CARROLLTON, GA. – During these historic times, SMI’s longstanding commitment to Going the Extra Mile with a Passion to Serve has only deepened, with each member of the team embracing our shared responsibility to deliver better-than-ever service, support, and flexibility, both across the country and within our own company. The ongoing spread of COVID-19 while economies work to reopen safely makes daily life more uncertain as we move together toward an unknown “new normal.”
Our team’s agility and innovation in response to the global pandemic demonstrates SMI’s customer-first standard of service. By successfully transitioning over 90% of our customer service staff to a work-from-home solution during the very early days of shelter-in-place guidelines, we were able to ensure seamless and secure business continuity, providing our customers and partners with peace of mind, while also keeping our own team and their families safe. As a small family-owned and -operated business, we are uniquely positioned to adapt quickly to evolving customer needs with flexible, dynamic solutions. We welcome such challenges, and we hold ourselves accountable to them with a unified TeamONE approach, strong personal relationships, and shared cultural values. More than ever, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve in this space.
Faced with closed offices, cancelled conferences, travel bans, and tightening budgets, today’s Title IV-D program climate feels different. As we celebrate National Child Support Enforcement Awareness Month during this unprecedented time, we are acutely aware of how important it is to deliver on the promises we make—to each other, and to ourselves.
SMI’s renewed commitment to service doesn’t stop at daily support collection, disbursement, and customer issue resolution. We are guided by an inclusive spirit, celebration of diversity, and respect for all those we serve and hope to serve. We are humbled by those on the frontlines working to deliver critical services to children and families across our nation. We stand with our private, public, and vendor partners as the child support program forges a path toward more effective and compassionate service. We acknowledge the noble pursuit of social justice for all in order to meet our most important common goal—caring for our nation’s families and children.
