Janet Statts Receives Prestigious Award

Jennifer Duke, Assistant Vice President, Governmental Services

We are proud to announce that Janet Statts, Vice President of Governmental Services, received the Lifetime Membership Award from the Georgia Professional Human Services Association (GPHSA) during their annual conference in Savannah on August 29.

According to their website, GPHSA’s purpose is “to advocate for the families and children served by the state of Georgia, to improve the service delivery system, to provide for education and training, and to educate the Georgia General Assembly on the issues relating to serving families and children.” SMI has been providing GA Georgia Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) with systems and services for over 41 years and has been involved with GPHSA from the beginning of our journey; Janet has been with SMI for 29 of those years! GPHSA has always been near and dear to SMI and Janet’s heart. It is an honor to be involved with and sponsor such a wonderful organization.

Janet was presented the award by the current GPHSA president, Laurence Nelson. Joe Stone, SMI’s CEO, and Bill Stone, SMI’s CFO and President, surprised Janet in Savannah for the awards luncheon as well as longtime SMI Governmental Services employee Wilmon Gamble. Jennifer Duke and Becky Jones were also in attendance from SMI.

Congratulations, Janet! Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication. SMI and Georgia families appreciate everything you do!
